Waler frames are used as an alternative to trench boxes where cross services are an issue. They are mainly used in city centre and highway excavations where ground movement must be kept to a minimum. They offer a 2 sided hydraulic support system used in conjunction with trench sheets to allow a clear working area for the inspection/laying of utilities.
Waler Rails are available in the following lengths 2m, 2.5m, 3m, 4m and 5m
Waler Cylinder | Min | Max | SWL | Weight |
Type A | 500mm | 800mm | 80kN | 12kg |
Type B | 705mm | 1205mm | 80kN | 15kg |
Type C | 1105mm | 1605mm | 80kN | 22kg |
Type D | 1505mm | 2005mm | 80kN | 28kg |
1000mm Waler Cylinder Extensions available
Hydraulic Manhole Braces are suitable for both square and rectangular excavations from 2.0m up to 6m.
Manhole Braces should be used with trench sheets to create a hydraulically operated four-sided support system and allow a safe working environment for manhole inspection or new build projects.
Hydraulic Manhole Braces are used when the soil conditions do not allow for a Manhole Box to be used, or, if cross services are involved in the scheme.
Five sizes of Brace arm are available as shown in the table below A,B,C,D,E - all are double acting in operation meaning that they are extended and retracted hydraulicaly ensuring easy placement into the excavation. All are fitted with Lock off valves meaning the hydraulic cylinders are secured against accidental release once in place.
All shoring solutions brace arms are interchangeable meaning rectangular support can been formed.
